In a previous blog, I had stated that a plane picked up my father to take him to Denver. After listening to the clip again, I was wrong about the location. A plane flew from Las Vegas to pick him up. I’m not sure why, but this changed things for me.
My father had business interests in Denver, but not Vegas. As far as I knew he only went there for vacation getaways with my mother. This leads me to wonder how all this came about. I mean how does a person from a fairly small city get to a hotel in Vegas without the necessary funds to help make it happen?
I do know that the mob was active in Vegas prior to my father getting involved in a hotel in Vegas. The mob was in the unions and gambling. Was he in the mob? I don’t know. What I do know is from listening to this clip, things just don’t seem to add up.
So, what does this mean? Was my father’s life a lie or the family’s life a lie? I spent this past weekend pretending all of this didn’t and tried to close this particular door. So how did that work out? Not very well, it seems like I can’t ignore it and hope it will go away.
Maybe I need to look into this to find some sort of resolution. One place to start is the hotel/casino in Vegas and go from there. We’ll see where this goes.
