My New Kitten is Triggering Me.

Several months ago, I adopted 2 kittens, a boy and a girl, who were 2 months old at the time. They were bonded siblings. They were at a local Humane Society satellite facility. I did spend some time together with them. The adoption coordinator told me that the girl didn’t take any shit from the male. They were quiet while I was hanging out with them.

Once the kittens got to their new home, they were separated from the other cats for a while. It took a few days for the cats to settle down once they were all together and settled in. When the kittens got comfortable with everyone, one particular kitten, Bon Jovi, found his voice. Bon Jovi turned out to be a real momma’s boy.

When I would lay on the couch, both Bon Jovi and his sister, Linda Ronstadt, would lay with me. This translated to the bedroom as well.

Both Bon Jovi and Linda Ronstadt would both sleep near me. My alarm for work would go off at 3:30 am. As soon as the alarm would go off, Bon Jovi would pop up and immediately start meowing. Now all of my previous cats have been pretty quiet cats. Bon Jovi was different. He was quite talkative,

`And it wasn’t just the alarm that would set him off. Every possible situation would. Ah the joys of having a new kitten, unlike all the previous ones!

Bon Jovi is the first cat I’ve had who has been so vocal. Every other cat has been rather quiet, He makes up for everybody and then some! It turns out his sometimes-constant meows is triggering me.

It has ties to a baby crying. Bon Jovi’s crying reminds me of a past memory of a baby crying. My usual reaction is to get really angry because I can’t handle the sound of the crying.

I had always assumed that the crying was a baby outside of me somewhere. It recently that perhaps it wasn’t an outside baby crying, but an internal one. In other words, it was me crying and not a different baby crying. I didn’t realize that until recently.

I know it sounds crazy, but remember I am a multiple, as I have multiple personality disorder for those folks who are uninitiated. It never occurred to me before that perhaps it might actually be me who was crying.

How that can happen has to do with me having multiple personalities. I’ll try and explain it in another blog,

My New Kitten is Triggering Me. is now live.
